If you are preparing a journey to the Amazon, be the motive recreational, business, academic or professional, we offer this space to provide you with a network of potential friends and allies, who live, love, and after years of work in the region, call the Amazon their home. Many came to the region to engage in research projects, others came as undergraduate or post graduate students to do their field work. A number of them came to participate in the Master’s and Specialization Programs in Amazon Studies at the UNAL Amazonia Campus; some were passing through and stayed, and a great many others were born in the Amazon or have their family roots in these magical forests. |
The
stories are many and vary, but having come, after years of living here,
they are raising families; they have started schools for their children,
and they have engaged fully in contributing to the region’s intelligent
development. |
